Angel Cakes - Where art meets cake

Angel Cakes is a small boutique cake artistry centre catering for decorated cakes of various types from wedding cake designs to cupcakes and kiddies' sponge cakes.

Over the past two years we have been awarded 6 gold awards and 2 silver awards plus in 2012 we were awarded Reserve Grand Champion at the Wrest Point Fine Foods Awards in the Cake and Pastry sections. Also that year we were awarded Champion exhibit at the Tasmanian Baking Awards.

I have been a bakery, patisserie and cake decorating lecturer in the UK, Perth WA, Canberra and at Drysdale House here in Tasmania and have over 40 years experience of decorating cakes. I have a teaching degree and Cert IV TAE plus advanced certificates in baking and patisserie and am a Licentiate of the City and Guilds of London for hospitality.

I have trained and judged for Worldskills and other competitions such as the Artisan Cup and my past students have won numerous awards including the National baking Scholarship and the Worldskills (I didn't judge that year) the contestant went on to represent Australia in Canada.

Shortly Angel Cakes will be offering short courses in a number of Baking, Patisserie and Cake Decorating areas in a newly built facility here in Hobart near Mona.
