Akuna Playgroup

Our playgroup is run by staff and parents working together to create a fun, sociable and challenging environment for children from birth to 5 years and their families.

Our routines will promote children's independence and organisation and aid in developing skills for life. They are also based on the knowledge of how children learn best and encourage you to work with your child to support their development in a variety of areas.

Our sessions run from 10.30am till 12pm on Friday mornings during the school term. The cost of each session is $3 per family. You also need to become a member of Playgroup SA by your 3rd visit. During the session you are encouraged to engage with your child or children in a variety of areas. You may even take the opportunity to make new social connections with other families.

We encourage you to bring the following to each session:

A hat - our preschool is a sun smart centre and children are required to wear a hat outside when the UV is over 3.

A bag - A drawstring bag, backpack or case for children to keep their own belongings in.

Fruit for your family to be eaten at fruit time.

We would also love all families to help with tidy up time towards the end of the session. Encourage your children to help as well. Many hands make light work!

After tidy up at approximately 11.50am we have a shared group time on the mat, where we encourage families to join in for songs and movement and a story. Please don't be shy - it is a fun end to the playgroup session!
