Abstract Design

Abstract Design is an online digital design gallery, created by the designer Nicky Stevens. Nicky has been a graphic designer for over 15 years creating signs, logos, flyers / brochures, business cards, invitations and website design. Through this time, she has also dabbled in acrylic and oil paints applying it to canvas, ceramic, card material and hand painted sign writing on a variety of surfaces.

Nicky has always had a great passion for hand painted abstract paintings and in the last 1 – 2 years, she has been experimenting in digital brush painting which is an effect by using the mouse as a paint brush and the screen as a canvas, either blank or with an image. This is where Abstract Design has come to life and Nicky’s passion for digital abstract design begun its journey!

Nicky has a deep, spiritual relationship and faith in God which is where her biggest influence has come from. What she sees or feels, she digitally brushes. Other influences have come from creation – the sky (an ever changing canvas!), nature, people, music, family, animals and the list goes on.

The power of words…
The idea of having text in the form of words or scripture in the design is very significant. The power of words can create atmospheres. The option of having a word/s or scripture in a design, is for the customer to think about what kind of atmosphere they would like to create and what the on-looker would sense when looking at the design. The text is digitally brushed over and blended into each design, with genuine time taken for each one.
