Approved staff members within Cairns Regional Council will moderate content and respond to requests daily and as quickly as possible during business hours only. This Facebook page will be monitored during business hours (between 8.30am and 5pm AEST Monday to Friday excluding public holidays).

Please contact Cairns Regional Council by phone, email, in writing or via our online enquiries and feedback form (on Council's website www.cairns.qld.gov.au) if you:

- would like to change your address
- pay a bill
- make an official complaint
- report a problem or request for service
- wish to respond to an item of Community consultation

Formal correspondence will be answered promptly and in accordance with Council’s Correspondence Administration Instruction No.2:02:72 (DM5 ref 963997). Correspondence means communication written, faxed or emailed that includes your proper name and address.

The Cairns Esplanade Facebook page is a place for us to promote OUR local community and Council/Government sponsored events. It is Council policy not to promote or otherwise endorse commercial or non-government/Council activities. If you post anything to our page that contravenes this criteria we reserve the right to take it down without consultation with you and/or the creator. Repeated violations of this policy may result in the user being blocked from our page.

We want everyone to feel comfortable joining our online community and to come here to find and enjoy the important information we provide. Comments containing obscene or vulgar language, abuse, personal attacks or hate speech of any kind, or offensive terms will be removed and the user reported to Facebook.

Don't include your email address, phone numbers or home addresses on the public wall. If you need to report an issue to us or we ask you for more information, please use the private message function of our Facebook page or email cityvenues@cairns.qld.gov.au.

Be aware that, depending on your Facebook profile privacy settings, by participating on Council's Facebook page, you may be making your information accessible to other people or organisations accessing Facebook. Cairns Regional Council will not seek or collect your personal information from Facebook.

Your personal interactions on our Facebook page are governed by your employment code of conduct and Council's official Media Policy and Admin instructions.

DO NOT post full names, email addresses, direct line phone numbers, personal details or similar information about other Council staff on this Facebook page or any other page on Facebook. Similarly do not provide official comment or make comments on behalf of Council on any matter unless you have been previously authorised by the CEO, GM or Manager of Marketing Communications.
